Rescueboat "Brandaris"

In October 2011 Shipyard Talsma began the restoration of the famous motor lifeboat 'Brandaris', which has been in service from 1923 to 1960 for the Royal Dutch Rescue Society on Terschelling.

This lifeboat belongs to a generation that has done the toughest rescues in the history of the KNRM. Terschelling therfore considers this boat as cultural heritage and wants to preserve the ship.

After the completion of the exterior restoration on April 25, 2013 representative Tineke Schokker has unveiled a plaque on the restored motor lifeboat Brandaris.

On May 2, 2013 the ship left our yard. In just over 1.5 years, the ship returned to its original state. The ship was towed to her homeport Terschelling where it is on display to the public.

Below is a photo impression of the work.
